Our History
House of Prayer began in 1963. The name of our congregation is based on Isaiah 56:7: “For My house will be called a house of prayer for all peoples.” It was then and yet remains an important part of our vision. We look forward to renewed spiritual growth and discovering vibrant ways of serving all God’s people in our community.
House of Prayer is a Lutheran congregation that strives to fulfill the mission given to us by our Lord: to go and make disciples, to baptize, to teach and to connect so that all will know God’s love. We are a family, and we offer many opportunities for worship, study, fellowship, service and play.
